Snowy Owl, Canmore’s top winter sled dog tour company, is thrilled to bring you this exhilarating activity, perfect for all ages. Get ready to embark on an unforgettable journey surrounded by breathtaking Rocky Mountain landscapes as your pack of huskies guides you through the forest at Boundary Ranch, Kananaskis.

This interactive tour not only introduces you to the thrilling world of dryland dog carting but also gives you the chance to assist in caring for our beloved huskies. As you explore the forest trails, you’ll make a pit stop at the buffalo paddock for an up-close encounter with these majestic creatures. Each cart accommodates up to 4 participants, making it an ideal adventure for families and groups.

Season: June to end of September (weather dependant)

Tour Days: Friday-Monday

Tour Times: 8:30am & 10:00am

Tour Length: 1.5 hours

WHAT’S INCLUDED?

  • 30 minute introduction & time with the dogs
  • 30 minutes on the trail
  • 30 minutes in the Guinn Family Wildlife Museum

Our day started with a “meet and greet” of the dogs who would be pulling our cart. These were all lovely, friendly animals, and you could see their joy and eagerness to get out on the trail with us and start running. The trail saw us take a couple of breaks to give the dogs a breather, with one stop to view and feed some bison. After the carting was done, we got to thank these beautiful dogs, and help to feed them a special recovery meal. We had a great time, thanks to the wonderful team who look after these gorgeous dogs, and in particular, our fabulous driver, Matt. Highly recommend this as a must do activity.
