When did you adopt your retired sled dog?
May 2022
Describe your family, partner, kids, and other animals…
Quest lives in a busy house with 4 other dogs (Cadie (his gf), Leia, Lizzy and Miles). He also lives with a Ragdoll cat – who did not like him at first, but Quest is scared of her.
What motivated you to adopt a retired sled dog?
All my dogs are rescues and was looking for more of an adventurous companion to come hiking with us since our other guys are either too old, blind or sore to join us for hikes. Also needed a new running companion
What do you love most about having an adoptee sled dog join your family?
That he’s goofy and weird
What 3 activities does your adoptee enjoy the most?
- Laying in the sun on the deck (even when it’s 30 degrees outside)
- Going for walks/runs
- Hanging out with Cadie
What new skills did your husky hero learn since living with you?
To hold his washroom when we are gone for the day. Adapting to living with a cat, which he’s never seen before and that beds are awesome, but he refuses to move or share them.
Did adopting a retired sled dog meet all your expectations?
It did, even though it comes with some challenges since he was so used to being an outside dog. He hates being in the rain and hogs the bed.
