At the half way point, take in the radiant views of the mystic Goat Pond while you embrace your new 4-legged friends. At the end of the trail, gather around a warm, cozy fire for stories while sipping hot beverages and sampling our famous “mystery cookies”.

Trails of alluring hills, tranquil valleys, quaint bridges and thrilling ice-covered lakes fill this tour, enticing you to return again and again!

Pick up wings and soar to new heights!

All aboard the Great Snowy Owl!   As you soar through our vast, snow-covered, majestic mountains, you will discover the history of our precious Sundance Range!  Arriving on the frozen shore of the stunning Spray Lake, your Snowy Owl instructors are awaiting your arrival to take you on your dog sledding adventure! It’s your dream, your destiny! 

We offer this program as a 2.5 hour tour where you can enjoy all features of the “Powder Hound Express” or a 4.5 hour tour where you can enjoy all features of the “Sunfeather Winterlude.”

The helicopter is flying you to or from the dog sledding site. Flight duration is Approx: 30 minutes.

In our culture as in many others, the moon lends itself to stories and romance! Snuggle under luxurious velour blankets as you travel trails of soft, glittering snow. Descend onto Goat Pond where the magic and beauty of the evening stars and moonlight create that marvelous, breath-taking atmosphere! Mush alongside a quiet river as your team transports you into the surreal stillness.

After your dog sledding excursion, cuddle your loved ones around a beautiful fire, enjoying hot beverages, baked hors D’oeuvres, sumptuous pastries and decadent cakes. We’ll reveal some dazzling philosophy held by our Natives and Inuit about the moonlit winter sky.

Let us reserve a table for two at one of our favorite award-winning restaurants in Canmore after your sled dog tour. Choose to snuggle up in front of a gracious stone fireplace while sipping on a delicious hot drink anticipating a connoisseurs' repast of Canadian delicacies, or howl with the local dogs at a popular Canmore Pub and enjoy "authentic pub grub"! Whatever you choose, you can be sure the enjoyment of the evening will be unprecedented (prices will vary depending on the program or eating establishment chosen).

An Adventure of a lifetime!

Take a break from the pack and explore your inner “musher” on a 2 day winter getaway! Begin with soft, gentle trails then progress to navigating intermediate terrain. Guide your team over the frozen expanse of Spray Lakes, while keeping watch for the other 4 legged inhabitants of the Canadian Rockies frequenting these backcountry landscapes!

After a full day dog sledding, spend time praising your team for a job well done, while graciously offering tasty treats to your new furry friends! Assist your guide in serving each husky a nutritious, hot, protein meal as they bed down for the night, dreaming of tomorrow’s trails!

While you cozy up to the warm glow of your campfire, enjoy famous “Family Label” recipes including luscious filet mignon, delectable veggies and sumptuous desert cooked fireside. Sip hot beverages while you learn the legend of the tipi, (our traditional cook house) and discover important beliefs and experiences of our Native and Inuit cultures. Spend the night in one of our comfortable “North Face” winter expedition tents lined with furs plus our very warm, top of Everest, “North Face Inferno” sleeping apparel.

Rise and shine to a hot and hearty campfire breakfast complete with freshly perked mountain coffee! Ready yourself for a full day excursion beyond the spectacular Canyon Dam. The huskies, sensing your enthusiasm, will contribute with their own howls in the anticipation of the adventure they will soon encounter! Snacks and lunch will follow into the day.

A visit to our kennel facility is a pefect way to end your journey! This part of the program is optional.

The featured speaker is Snowy Owl owner and founder Connie Arsenault who has not only met 28 years of challenges, managing thousands of teams of canines and humans - and co-founded the Alberta International Sled Dog Classic and was the Western Regional Director of the International Sled Dog Racing Association.

• There are many interesting similarities in interacting with both species - and this is all 'driven home' as your team learns to master the coordination of the dogs out on the trail. This is truly team building at its best!

• Additional to Connie's conference presentation, you'll have the option of taking either the introductory or the half-day sled trips. If your thirst for adventure is greater you can add other longer and more intense adventure options, completely customizing your experience.
