If you require clothing, we are able to recommend certain reputable clothing establishments in our area that can either rent it to you, or set you up with your very own! If you need to rent boots, jackets or snow pants we do rent some out. We ask that you tell us in advance if you require any clothing and boots for rental.

Following is a list of "Canadian Rocky Mountain" winter clothing conducive to dog sledding in our backcountry wilderness environment. Please let us know if you are not able to improvise with your own clothing items:

  • Wool, silk, or synthetic long underwear
  • Wool or warm synthetic turtleneck sweater
  • Extra wool or warm synthetic sweater
  • Fleece or warm synthetic pants and jacket
  • Gortex outer pant and jacket
  • Thick wool socks, avoid any cotton clothing as cotton retains moisture.
  • Warm winter boots such as Sorels (available for rent). Please make sure your boots do not fit too snug as this will restrict your circulation and contribute to cold or uncomfortable conditions for you
  • If you are a skier, please dress as if you are going skiing, ie. layers and your ski suit
  • Goggles, or sunglasses, are also important, as are warm mitts or gloves and neck tubes or balaclavas. Disposable hand warmers are also effective (hand & toe warmers available for sale at our store)
  • Portrait or video camera
  • Sunscreen
